20th Anniversary
Year 2012 is a special milestone for company DUOL. A company marks its 20 years of successful launching DUOL brand of air domes to markets worldwide.

20 years ago, DUOL built the first air-supported structure
20th anniversary year is a good opportunity to review past work. DUOL is proud on sport structures with its brand, which were installed in a time of company establishment. Structure’s operation is same as at opening ceremony no matter on ageing. Fabric properties are not affected by changes during years due to improved membrane technology. In last twenty years DUOL has made a step further to implement PVDF membrane. Latest life expectancy for a membrane of new generation is more than 40 years.

Review to FSB 2011
DUOL Ltd., a manufacturer of air dome systems, was exhibited at FSB 2011 with air supported structures of the new generation. The booth was located in Hall 11.2. and attracted nearly a thousand professional visitors who could learn more about the DUOL range of products.
DUOL newly developed the SpaceDome insulation system which was promoted first at FSB. According to the Slovenian company it is a unique system with a great effect on the energy efficiency. It received interest from domestic German and also foreign visitors. All in all DUOL drew a positive conclusion about the FSB 2011. (12.12.2011)

New air dome in Turkey
DUOL has finished new air dome in Turkey. Air dome 72x36m in size is equipped with DUOL double membrane system which provides high insulation and prevents condensation. Membrane is coated with advanced PVDF film, which prolongs lifespan of membrane on more than 40 years.
DUOL high-tech systems, such as DUOL Air Management System and InnovEco lights ensure perfect swimming conditions.
New energy-efficient air dome presented
DUOL presents a new air dome, erected in Scandinavia with an innovative insulate system - ThermoDome. It uses aerospace materials which technology experts consider to be one of best insulation materials ever invented. The insulating system is great step from standard double membrane system.
As DUOL states, the used material weighs virtually nothing and is flexible, translucent, non-flammable and provides up to four to five times better thermal performance than standard double membrane insulation systems. With this achievement being made by the Slovenian company the air dome heating and cooling costs can be reduced to the level of a conventional building.

Always with an eye to innovation DUOL, took into account that heating and cooling of objects takes up 50 to 70 percent of the total energy that is allocated for the usage during the development of the ThermoDomeTM insulating system. This fact is becoming even more important as nowadays, energy costs increase at high rates, with no signs of slowing. ThermoDome insulating system delivers energy efficiency, high performance and thermal and moisture barrier systems. It also keeps the heat or cold from getting inside the air dome, as the company tells.
The air dome in Scandinavia is also equipped with DUOL eco-friendly systems which enable additional energy saving. The eco ventilation-heating units enable up to 107 per cent of thermal efficiency. This efficiency is achieved with condensing inox boiler in combination with premix gas burner. The unit is also eco-friendly with zero carbon monoxide (CO), little nitrogen oxides (NOx) and low carbon dioxide emissions thanks to its high heating efficiency. In overall the energy savings with DUOL eco ventilation-heating units are 45 to 50 per cent.

Eco Lighting System is designed to save energy with better performance. To provide maximal light dispersion from the height 4 to 19 meters and immediately energy saving for approx. 50 per cent normal metal halogen units are used as an optical projector, equipped with innovative daylight obscuration sensor. The light includes also the moving sensor (PIR). Innovative eco lighting system can increase savings on more than 70 per cent.
The PLC SYSTEM (Programmable logic controller) is a system which enables constant real-time supervision of the air domes activity and vital technical data with alarming. The system is connected to various sensors and relays which are gathered in the main unit and from there transferred through LAN internet cable or GPRS signal to the internet server. There, data is processed, logged and displayed in different graphs and tables. For each data an alarm can be adjusted to inform the air domes user with SMS on mobile phone. In this way the customer has total surveillance over the air domes pressure, temperature, lighting and alarms. For some selected parameters such as lighting and heating remote managing can also be adjusted. (26.07.2011)
Air dome for tennis court and swimming pool
DUOL Ltd., supplier of air-supported structures, constructed air domes for a swimming pool and for a tennis court in the Belgian capital Brussels. The air-supported structures protect from weather conditions and allow playing at one court throughout the whole year.
The air domes cover is made of translucent material.
The pool, that has been covered in Istanbul was an open air swimming pool. With the air dome construction the venue now can be used during the winter months, as well. “DUOL provide you with a complete turnkey air structure package to cover your recreational site and extend your operating season. DUOL air domes are easy to maintain and are built to withstand unusual weather conditions”, the company explains.

The second project accomplished by Slowenian supplier DUOL is an air dome for a tennis court in the Belgian capital Brussels. Like all air-supported structures the dome can be temporary removed and athletes can enjoy outdoor-sport during the summer months. Assembly and disassembly of the air dome takes just one day, according to DUOL information. Furthermore the company provides full service and technical help with domes' assembly and disassembly.

“The cover of DUOL-air domes is translucent, which means it is not necessary to use the artificial lighting during the day. At the same time our double membrane of the cover ensures better isolation and automatically lowering of the heating costs in consequence, especially during the colder days”, DUOL explains. Air dome for Pool in Istanbul completed
Duol Ltd. from Slovenia has completed work on the olympic swimming pool in the city of Istanbul. The swimming pool which is a venue of swimming and water polo competitions has been covered by an air dome construction that can be dismantled during open pool season.

The olympic swimming pool in Istanbul is equipped with tribunes on both long sides and auxiliary facilities beneath. The air dome has a lentght of 87 meters, a width of 40 meters and a height of 11 meters. Excluding the tribunes, the air dome is based on the wall up to the auxiliary facilities in order to provide undisturbed acces to wardrobes and other rooms from into the dome.
The air dome construction can be dismantled for open pool season
On the beginning of the open pool season the air dome can be dismantled and the tribunes can be re-used for swimming and water polo competitions. (18.05.2011)
Air Dome for Tennis in Belarus
DUOL Ltd. has installed a new tennis dome in the Republic of Belarus. A specific of this dome is the installation on a brick wall and the air supported structure functions as the roof. The Air Dome has the proportions of 40 times 19 meters and a height of nine meters.
This air supported structure was built in Belarus by the Slovenian company DUOL Ltd.
The investor followed the instructions for the foundation wall preparation from DUOL’s engineering department. Construction works were done before the assembling has started. A revolving door and an emergency door are mounted as entrances into the wall. The air management is run through the wall, too. The interior of the object will be equipped after the building is completed. The facade will be designed as a lamella structure. (21.04.2011)
Air Dome with tennis courts by the Mediterranean Sea
The Slovenian company DUOL Ltd. has build a three courts tennis Air Dome near the Mediterranean Sea, located in a suburb of Thessaloniki, Greece. DUOL is an important supplier of air-supported structures with high-quality materials and the newest technology.

The structure is attached to the relaxing facilities and a mini bar. The Air Dome is a place of gathering not only for sportsmen, but also for a local community. Having a break in a bar, the players can enjoy a nice view into the indoor tennis courts. The double membrane system is fixed on the capital window wall. A revolving door is located at the entrance. The dome possesses an energy efficient lighting system and the surface is made of red clay.
Air supported structures are an innovative and good solution for the seasonal or permanent coverage of one or more tennis courts. The particularly quick erection of the dome and its equally rapid dismantling that leaves no visible traces allows temporary or permanent coverage. The translucency of the membrane allows the domes to be used in daylight without artificial light. The very good insulation characteristics of the double fabric membrane ensure the proper condition for the use of any flooring type. Jump tower covered with membrane system
In December 2010, Slovenian company DUOL finished the assembly works on a technical demanding project: covering a jump tower with a double membrane system. A prestigious dome was erected at the Kantrida Swimming Pools complex in the city of Rijeka in Croatia.

The jump tower’s height is 15 meter, when it is domed only to the height of the jumping board. A pick of the tower is still outside the fabric, which is connected to the tower by a special designed connection device. The complete dome dimensions are 34 times 33 times 10 meter. (05.01.2011)
Two new air domes in Finland
DUOL Ltd. is proud to announce two new air domes in Scandinavia. The temporary buildings of the Slovenian company were built up near Helsinki, the capital of Finland, and cover several tennis courts to secure gaming all over the year, independent from weather conditions.
One dome measuring 35.4 times 17.6 times 9 meters covers two tennis courts and will be used permanently. The main entrance is designed in a form of a pedestrian door, allowing also access of disabled persons. Furthermore high-efficiency indirect lighting system has a movement sensor built-in.
Due to the two air domes, tennis now can be played all year long on the roofed courts
Another dome which was built up in Turku is a white-grey object in dimensions of 53.5 times 38 times 12 meters and covers three tennis courts, turning them into an indoor tennis venue. (26.10.2010)
